When I stepped in Kanyakumari, I was super excited to think about where I’m!

I’m in the southmost town of India’s mainland. I’m seeing the unbelievable horizon where three seas meet. I’m in a place, where Swami Vivekananda attained enlightenment. And these are not only the reasons for Kanyakumari’s charm. Take the ride with me for unleashing more…

Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a popular tourist monument in Vavathurai, Kanyakumari. This place is most important for all Indians as Swami Vivekananda went there to meditate over a rock in 1892 for three days; before his spiritual message across the world. In 1970 a memorial temple was built on that rock along with a meditation center and a statue of Vivekananda himself. You can easily reach here taking a 15-minute ferry ride from Kanyakumari beach.

Ferry at Kanyakumari Beach

Extreme next to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial there is a famous statue of Thiruvalluvar, the great philosopher. You can go inside the base of the statue and climb up its feet for an exotic view of the sea. There are regular ferries from the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Kanyakumari beach.

The most amazing feeling I had when I saw the three ocean’s meet-point. Indian Ocean — Bay of Bengal — Arabian sea meet here which is known as Trivedi Sangam. You can recognize each sea because of its color. It undoubtedly breathtaking experience.

Kanyakumari is considered as the southmost town of India’s mainland. You can be the witness of the most authentic sunrise and sunset here. There are many sunrise and sunset points and watchtowers.

If I don’t tell you about the shopping street then it will be an injustice. There are many stalls just a minute walk from the beach. You can buy wonderful handicraft items, dresses, bags, and many more things at a pocket-friendly price. Bargaining will be your friend here!

There is a wax museum near to the railway station. I highly recommend this place to visit. If you have a kid, you must pay a visit here. There is a 3D art gallery. I really enjoyed clicking photos here.

Kanyakumari is also famous for pilgrimages. There are many temples and thousands of pilgrims come here over the years. 2–3 days for Kanyakumari is perfect but there are many sightseeing tours that you can plan.

My Kanyakumari trip was really memorable. I’m sure your short trip to Kanyakumari will be a blast. Being the witness of the meeting of three seas, the last soil of the county’s mainland will tick your wishlist.
